Ballet update

Since the posting of my earlier blog titled The Helena May, I am proud to report that Tasha has started attending ballet class at Carol Bateman Dance School at the Helena May since January 2007 and she is loving every minute of it!!!

The older Tasha gets, the less she likes changes. Even after we joined the Helena May, she still would not consider attending class at the Carol Bateman Dance School. Eventually, Geoff had to have a heart-to-heart talk with her in November and she reluctantly agreed to try it out in the “New Year”. We took that to mean 2007 and made the necessary arrangements.

Although she agreed to start in the “New Year”, every time we mentioned it, she would say, “Oh, I am not sure, mum”. Therefore, as an insurance policy, I bought Miss Lai (her ballet teacher), Miss Tse (the principal) and Uncle Ben (the principal’s husband, also the administrator) all a Christmas/farewell gift…..just in case she hates it at the new place and wants to return………

Now that she has started, she loves it so much, she won’t even miss class to go to a friend’s birthday party!!! So “qua”.

This term, I also enrolled her in Chinese Dance Class, one of the after school activities organized by her school. Again, “I am not sure”, “what if I don’t know anyone”, “what if I don’t understand the teacher (Teacher teaches in Mandarin)” and a million of other excuses. Luckily, Chinese Dance started a week after ballet. After her “fantastic” experience at her ballet class, she is less reluctant to try out the class. And…….like I predicted, she likes the class!!!

So, now she is a total believer of “mummy knows best”!!! Heeheehee
