Andrea started school on 13 August 2007 and therefore has been attending classes at Victoria Nursery for over 3 weeks now. Remember her first day of school? She was such a brave little girl who despite being her first day at school, hardly cried (so unlike her mother……).
Anyways, after one week at school, she realised that school is for real and that she had to go every day! She started to fuss and cry in school. But what choice do we have? I tried the trick I used with Tasha – give her a little toy each day to bring and show the teacher – hope this will take her focus away from “going to school”. Don't think it works very well.....
The other day, Andrea’s class teacher called to give me an update. She said Andrea cried during the first hour of school and then only another 3 more times after that. And she said that she is making progress!!! Aiyooooo……
Starting 3 September, Andrea takes the school bus to school on her own. She insists that she didn’t cry on the bus but she cried in school. Why? Beats me!
No more update calls from the teacher this week, so I assume she is making good progress…….I hope anyways. It will really make my day if she stops crying all together…..and I hope the day comes soon.
