Back to School

The girls started school last Monday (24th August). This year Tasha is in Year 4, her fifth year at CIS, a veteran already. No meet the teacher day for her, straight into business. She was really excited about going back to school (I wish I was like that when I was young). So, despite my efforts in changing her sleeping habits (those late nights during the summer must come to an end), she still had trouble sleeping on Sunday night. The usual warm milk, sheep counting etc didn't help. Regardless, she had no problem getting up for school on Monday!

It was an entirely different scenario with Andrea. She will be in the afternoon class, so no bedtime problem. But, Monday would be her first day at CIS. She didn't quite enjoy her old school, so we hope it would be different with CIS. On Monday, we took her to meet the teachers for about an hour. This is her in CIS uniform:

Andrea is in Jungle Kingdom PM, same as Tasha but different teachers. I think it is better this way - no comparison. As it turned out she loves CIS. When pressed for reasons, this is what I got from her:

1) CIS has no homework (what a lazy one I have!) and

2) She is allowed to eat her own snack (she is a very picky eater) and when she wanted.

I also think the main reason is that the other children speak English. Suddenly, she can make friends (not the same with the old school).

Anyways, I am just happy she likes school.
