One great thing about my job is that I get to meet clients who engages in different type of businesses. And if you are as lucky as I am, you get nice clients. On the May 1st weekend, my client invited us up to Hepu in Guangxi Province to visit one of their orange plantations and do some orange picking.
When we arrived at the plantation, the kids were instantly fascinated by the machinery!
Then we were all given tools and taught how to "pick" oranges and then we can pick what we wanted!
The "harvest"
I think they are ready to earn some pocket money as fruit pickersAnd then we ate the fruits of our labour

After picking oranges, we went to Beihai for lunch. This was followed by a visit to the famous Beihai beach. Unfortunately, it was raining, so instead of hanging around at the beach, we went for a foot massage instead. The girls were really pleased as they only get foot massages whenever we were in China - i.e. this would be their 3rd.
Later than evening, we were treated to a scrumptious seafood dinner - including some sand worms sashimi!!! And we ended the night with a spectacular private firework display! Apparently, there are a number of fireworks factory in Hepu area. Although it was still drizzling but when the fireworks were lit just for you and the brilliant fireworks were right above your head, the feeling is just amazing. The girls totally agreed with me.
We had another surprise waiting for us at lunch the next day. Besides fireworks, Hepu also has foie gras farms! And these foie gras are for export to France. Talk about all things made in China! We had a chef fried the foie gras for us at our table. They were yummy but I think the chef needed a bit more training........
