Well Done Andrea!

We are one of those trusting parents who trust the school to teach our kids everything they needed to know. Then one day last December, we realised that Drea's progress in school is not as we expected. In particular, her reading skill is not progressing satisfactorily. So Geoff has taken upon himself to teach Drea how to read, starting with phonics. It was a painful beginning........Drea has very short concentration span. But Geoff persevered. Now, 3 months later, both Drea's reading skills and concentration have made tremendous progress. She has progressed from A books to G books and she could sit with Geoff and read for at least 30 minutes without fussing (although she still complains every time she has to read!).

My dream of the four of us reading quietly may not be that far away now.....
