Kaya Story

Every time we go back to KL, especially during CNY, Geoff's auntie will give us a few tubs of homemade Kaya spread.  This year, she gave us 4 tubs.  We left 2 behind and brought 2 with us.

Since 911, no liquid or gel allowed on board the plane.  However, this is Malaysia and usually anything goes.  It is after all KAYA wor!  Geoff had brought back the occasion tub now and again, so I didn't think twice before putting them into my hand carry.

This time, however, the lady at the security check point refused to let me take the Kaya on board.  She suggested I put them in one of the kids backpack and check them in.  Unfortunately, the tubs were not properly sealed, so at the risk of spreading kaya all over the kids books, I decided to give the kaya up.  Luckily, I am still a Gold member of Cathay Pacific's Marco Polo Club (not for long as I have not been flying a lot this year), the airline staff were very helpful.  In the end, they found me a small box to put the kaya in and checked them in for me.

So now, we can have Kaya for breakfast EVERYDAY!
