Today is about birthday present. This year Geoff said he wanted a present, not just a present but a surprise present. It has been a few years since I bought a proper birthday present for Geoff - you know, the one that you bought secretly, wrapped up beautifully and put under his pillow on birthday eve? Well, don't get me wrong, I DO buy presents for him. Just not a surprise one. He choose, I pay. It is really not easy to buy a present for men, let alone Geoff.
It seems that I am not alone in feeling this way. According to an article in a magazine, it is near impossible to buy a present for men over 30. At this age, these men would have already bought whatever they desire coz they can (or should be able to) afford it. In particular, do not buy high tech or luxury stuff coz it is likely that they would want to reserach it thoroughly first. So, the advise is buy basic stuff like socks and scarf!!! And since these 2 items won't go well with Geoff, this article is no help at all.
So, I continued to look through more magazines and surf the net in search for ideas and I went shopping during lunch time. And finally, I found something in a magazine. I went to the shop to have a look and was told that it has not arrived in Hong Kong yet and when it does, there will only be about 20 or so, so I'd better put my name down for one.
I did and I got it just 2 days ago. It is a Dunhill bulldog key ring with a 1GB USB memory stick!
He opened his present yesterday - got the desire effect - he was surprised! Lucky he won't be seeing the bill, else he will get another surprise!!!
