Typhoon Signal 8

It is now almost 6pm on Friday. I am have been at home working via our VPN system for the past 2 hours and listening to the wind hauling outside. Why? Becasue PABUK, which is supposed to have gone by now made a U-turn and come towards HK! Yes, a U-turn!!!

And yes, you've guessed it, no school for Andrea again today! When we woke up this morning, we thought PABUK has moved away from HK. But was told that typhoon signal 1 was hoisted again at 7-ish and since PABUK is making it way towards HK, signal 3 may be up later in the day. So, we waited for updates from the observatory and Andrea's school. By noon, nothing had changed. So, Geoff drove Andrea from home to pick me up before heading to school. On they way to my office, the observatory changed the signal from 1 to 3, i.e. no school for Andrea (again)! And since they were already on the way, we decided to have lunch together.

After lunch, Andrea came up to my office for a spin. Whilst she was charming my colleagues, the obsevatory annouced that signal 8 would be hoisted before 3.30pm. When typhoon 8 is hoisted, everyone is supposed to make their way home ASAP (although I have had worked though many typhoon 8s myself). So, here I am working at home with the girls playing around me.

But Andrea had an unexpected PABUK day:

Lunch with daddy and mummy at JW Marriot (the only place we could book given the horendous weather out there!).

A visit to mummy's office.

A nap on the way home after snacking on her favourite OREOs from mummy's office.
