Today is 9 August 2007. Today is supposed to be Andrea’s first day of school at Victoria Nursery. But PABUK made sure that this is not so. PABUK is the first typhoon to come close to HK this summer.
Summer is typhoon season in HK. But this year, hardly any typhoon came close to HK, hence excellent weather in HK so far this summer. PABUK became a severe tropical storm on Tuesday as it approaches HK. Typhoon signal 1 was hoisted yesterday morning and typhoon signal 3 hoisted this morning. When typhoon signal 3 is hoisted, all kindergartens will be closed. Hence no school for Andrea.
PABUK has deteriorated into a tropical depression, so I expect all warning signals to be removed tomorrow morning. The rain will continue but at least Andrea gets to start school. She has been looking forward to this. Well, we will know this tomorrow, so tune back in tomorrow.
