Wednesday was Transportation day. The children in Tasha's year is having a field trip - they have to take different types of public transport around town.
This is a very well thought out trip. The teachers have walked the route previously to make sure it is a workable route. Parents were given clear instructions in the morning. Children were given worksheets to fill - to help them learn things along the way.
First leg - from school at Braemar Hill to Tin Hau MTR station. This is the easiest leg as we were taken by designated school bus to Tin Hau MTR station.

Second leg - Tin Hau to Central by MTR. This is the most challenging leg. Imagine trying to get a group of school children on a crowded MTR during peak hour. Certain U Tube clip about Japanese trains came to mind! Luckily the MTR personnel were very helpful and managed to get us in cars that were not too packed.
Third leg - Central to Tsim Sha Tsui by ferry. This was fun for the kids. They were told a little about the history of the star ferries and that the ferry is still one of the icons of Hong Kong. Then they were asked to find out names of the ferries (I really didn't noticed the ferries had names!). There are apparently more than 10 ferries still in operation and all of them have names ending with "star". Well, I see the creation of a new bunch of ferry spotters!
After we arrived at TST, we took a walk along the esplanade and then break for snack.
Fourth leg - make our way back to Central by ferry. Another chance for the children to spot the rest of the ferries.
Fifth leg - take the open top bus from ferry pier to Peak tram station. I believe this is a first for Tasha. This bus is mainly to take tourist from the Central area to the Peak tram station. All the children were very excited and all wanted to sit on top.
The Peak tram station is right next to the Hong Kong Park. So the teachers had us stopped for lunch and some play time at the playground.
Sixth and last leg - take Peak tram up to the Peak. After having lunch and feeding the mosquitoes (I didn't know they were stopping by Hong Kong Park and so didn't bring any insect repellent, you should see the girls legs), we made our way up to the Peak.
