Skiing Lesson in Hong Kong

To prepare for our ski trip in January, we signed up for some ski lessons. Yes, in Hong Kong! But........on a dry slope.......more like a revolving carpet.

Last Saturday, we went for our first lesson. Tasha was so excited. So, we let her, Alex and Andrew went on it first. It took them only a short while to master the basic ski and stop technique.

After about 30 mins, Andrea went on it with Geoff and I. As usual, Andrea didn't last very long.....I don't expect her to......just not sure what we are going to do with her when we get to Whistler.

As for me, the whole experience was better than I had expected. May be because I had expected the worst.....imagine learning to ski when you are close to 40! Anyways, I could do the ski and stop ok. It's the turning left and right that I still cannot master. Need more practice. After the first lesson, we felt really tired (my poor old bones....). I had wanted to go for a foot massage (imagine. .hmmm...nice) that night but after we got home, we were so knackered we could hardly get ourselves out of the house again. The next day, muscles I didn't know existed started to ache.......

I forgot to bring my camera to the first lesson. So, I had my helper take these during the kids' second lesson yesterday. Looks like they had fun again! I am not looking forward to my next lesson......
