Lone Pine Hotel in Penang

While in Penang, we stayed at the Lone Pine Hotel in Batu Feringgi.  Although most of the food joints are in Georgetown, Geoff wanted to get away from the city and stay somewhere with more of a resort feel.  Lone Pine used to be a back-packer's joint but it was acquired by the E&O Group (of Oriental Express Train fame), underwent a major renovation and reopened as a boutique hotel about a year ago.  We like the colonial style of the hotel.

Breakfast at the Bungalow

We usually go into Georgetown for breakfast, then take in a sight or two.  By noon, it would often be too hot to walk around town. So, after lunch we would normally head back to the hotel and hang out by the pool.

Another nice feature is the balcony in our room - it has a large bath tub which became the girls' favourite spot. Geoff and I never had the chance to use it........

And Tasha experienced another kind of pool for the first time!
