Day 5 - Versaille Palace

Today, we made our way back into Paris. On route, we stopped to visit the Versaille Palace. It was a Monday and the palace was closed but the gardens were opened. Geoff and I had visited the palace back in December 1999. That winter, a severe stormed hit much of Europe and the gardens were severely damaged and were closed for restoration. So, after a decade, we were back to complete our visit.

The equally famous Latona fountain

While dad was busy taking photos, Andrea found "Bat girl"

After Versaille, we drove into Paris, found our apartment. Everything went smoothly until we went to return our rental car. The location I chose which was the closest to our apartment was closed as it was Easter Monday. So, we attempted to find one that would be opened. Guessing that the one at the train station should be opened, we drove to Gare du Nord station. Took me half an hour to find the counter (hidden in the basement) and then another half an hour to find the underground carpark to return the car! But all ended well. And we were totally ready to explore Paris!
