Day 5: Muir Woods and Sausalito

We had initially planned to take the kids to Yosemite to see the giant sequoia trees. Well, plans changed so instead here we were at Muir Woods.

It was a really pleasant walk through the park and the kids were really fascinated by these old trees.

Later in the afternoon, we drove to Sausalito. It's as picturesque as we remembered. There we met a street performer with his parrot. He could make it poo on demand! Wished I'd learnt this trick before the kids were toilet trained........

The place where the above photos were taken is called Yee Tock Chee Park. A Chinese name. How interesting. I tried to find who Yee Tock Chee was. I only found this: "In 1977, the park was renamed Yee Tock Chee Park, after a beloved Sausalito merchant, who had generously extended credit to his customers during lean times."
