All Roads Lead to Rome Part II

Vatican City

No visit to Rome is complete without going to the Vatican City. After the screening of Angles & Demons, we thought the Vatican City would be even more packed than normal. But as it turned out, it was acceptable (may be that's to do with our expectations). Initially, we weren't going to go to the Vatican Museum but wanted to visit St. Peter's Basilica instead.

When we got there, Tasha changed her mind and wanted to see the Sistine Chapel. So, we went to the Vatican Museum which was a long walk from the Metro exit......

The Museum garden

After a few photos in the Museum's garden, we started our journey to the Sistine Chapel......through some exhibition halls with amazing wall paintings....

...through the Tapestry Room....

....through the Map Room.....

....through.....by now I lost track....girls are getting tired and we just wished that the Sistine Chapel is around the corner.....

...through modern religious art (??).......

And then finally, we were in the Sistine Chapel! We found somewhere to sit and we took some photos - we later found out that photo taking was not allowed but the signs were not obvious......

The Last Judgement

The spiral exit

Next we went to St. Peter's Square. By now, the queue into St. Peter's Basilica looked long, so we gave up and hung around the square instead.

Girls tried to cool down with fountain water

With this we ended our Italian trip. Ciao!
