All Roads Lead to Rome Part I

All roads lead to Rome, so it is only appropriate that we made Rome our last stop. We had been to Rome before although it was 10 years ago, we had visited many of the important sites and were not keen to repeat all of them. Besides, after almost 2 weeks on the road, we just wanted to take it easy.......more importantly the summer sale had started and we wanted nothing more than to SHOP! We are after all Hongkongers by nature and were starting to show shopping withdrawal symptoms! So, we discussed with Tasha and agreed to only visit selected sites.

Spanish Steps

This is near one of the main shopping areas, so it is only natural that we would go there.

Barcaccia's Fountain

This was taken by Tasha, rather professional I must say

Trevi Fountain

This is a world famous fountain that turned out to be Tasha's favourite.

After Trevi Fountain, we went in search of the "best" gelato shop as recommended by our Fodor guide - San Crispino. It took us a while to find it coz we were looking for a queue. When we found it, it was empty, no one there! We knew why after we went in. The staff had bad attitude and the lemone gelato I had was soooo average! So, definitely not the best gelato in our opinion.

Coloseum

This is another must for Tasha. But since she hadn't learnt about it in school, she was happy just to see it from the outside.

Piazza Navona

This was on our way to the Pantheon and it has several beautiful fountains, so why not include it!

Pantheon

As it turned out, this was the highlight of the day. The architecture is just so amazing and its nearly 2000 years old.
