Sienna and Pogni

First stop today – Sienna. We have been there before hence the wow factor was not so great. Stopped by coz we wanted to show it to Tasha. Had a leisurely walk around town, took some photos at the famous fan-shaped square and of course had a gelato before making our way to our next destination.

To get the Tuscan feel, we decided to live in a “farm” type accommodation. We found one thru the argiturismo website (a pretty good site). The “farm” – Fattoria Pogni is (as the name suggest) in Pogni (not even on the map we bought!), a smaller town next to a small town Marciella, just off the Sienna – Florence highway. If not for the very detailed instructions given, we probably couldn’t find it.

As expected, Fattoria Pogni is beautiful. It is a working farm producing its own wine and olive oil, both of which was given to us to sample. It consists of a main house (for the owner), a function hall, a cellar (of course), a workshop and 2 buildings which had been converted to host 6-7 apartments. We had an upstairs flat above the cellar.

It also has a swimming pool........

The water is cold but refreshing

...a football field, a swing......

.....and most of all a giant size trampoline!

Even I can't resist having a go
