Florence

Today we decided to venture into Florence. Florence is a big city and we didn't have a detailed map of how to get into the city. So, what do we do? Try to follow signs to "centro"! This worked ok for a while and then when, I think, we were closer to the city, we lost the sign. Panic! Drove blindly. At one point we were on this narrow one lane road in a walled city.......

Luckily, we emerged from the walled city to see a river - which we took to be the River Arno. And we were right! We made it! Phew......

The famous Duomo

One of the panels on the Golden Gate

Even the cars are trendy in Italy

Tasha with the best gelato of this trip

Street artists - interesting to note that many of them were orientals

Andrea kept rubbing the wild boar's nose - guess she REALLY wanted to come back to Florence again!

No visit to Florence would be complete without a visit to The Ponte Vecchio, the oldest surviving bridge in Florence

The famous replica of the Statue of David

What better way to end a hectic day than with a coffee from Gilli's
