New England - Cape Cod

It was dusk when we reached Hyannis. The sky was grey and looked like it was about to pour. But that didn't stop Tasha hitting the pool before dinner.

View from our room

The next day, we had to start out early as Geoff did not want to miss the World Cup finals between Netherlands and Spain that afternoon. So, we drove as fast as we could to Province Town. Historically, this is the place that the Pilgrims stopped at the curved tip of Cape Cod before moving on to Plymouth. And it had been a bustling seaport in the 1700s. Then in early 1900s artists started settling here. Modern day Province Town is a colourful gay community. Kids were very fascinated by what they saw.

The lively Commercial Street

It's a pity we can't see from this photo the toys on display but this is Province Town, so.....use your imagination

Drea drinking beer - root beer

Lobster Pot - where we had the fastest lunch before rushing back for the game but good lobster sandwich

We made it back to the hotel missing only about 20 mins of the game - still nil nil. So the girls and I went to the pool to wait while Geoff watched the game. Lucky there was a pool to entertained the kids as the game extended and extended.......and finally Spain took home the title.

Once daddy unglued himself from the TV, we went to Craigville Beach. We were in Cape Cod, we had to at least visit 1 beach!

That evening Geoff took us for dinner at a Brazilian grill. It was my first, so was very fascinated......and stuffed. All the meat........

Look at all the fudge......pity my stomach can't take anymore

Seems the kids do have a separate stomach for dessert.......still not me
