New England - Leaving Cape Cod

After 3 nights at Hyannis, we were ready to move on. But not before we had another dip in the pool!

Hyannis is best known for its association with the Kennedy clan. In 1926, Joseph Kennedy rented a summer cottage in Hyannis Port which he later bought and rebuilt into a family home. Throughout the years, members of the Kennedy clan also bought property around it. Today, the area of about 6 acres is known as the Kennedy Compound. We were told one can only see it from the water, ie on a boat, so we didn't see it. But, there is a JFK Museum in Hyannis Town. so, before we left Hyannis, we went back to town and took a couple of pictures.

Because of its association with the Kennedy clan, Hyannis is the most prosperous town in Cape Cod and has the highest concentration of shops, malls, hotels, businesses etc. We chose to have lunch here before we continued our drive. At a food court in a shopping mall, we had oriental food for lunch and Tasha was given her very first fortune cookie!

The fortune cookie said to learn Chinese! Ahahahhaa, I find that so funny!

On our way out of Cape Cod, we stopped by to visit Cape Cod Potato Chips. We weren't allowed to take any photos during the self guided tour but we were allowed to take some samples - they were yummy. We liked the sweet mesquite barbecue and five cheeses flavour. It was a fun detour.

We also stopped at a small town called Sandwich. Very quaint. At Sandwich, we came across a very beautifully decorated shop selling home stuff. Called a Spotted Fish. Ran by a lady and her retired teacher friend. An award winning shop too. How nice.
