New England - Rockland and Camden

After Bar Harbor, we drove down south. First stop, Rockland. One of the main attraction there is the Maine Lighthouse Museum. It was very informative showing the evolution of lighthouses and also what a lonely life the lighthouse masters led.

After Rockland, we drove further south to our little B&B at Camden. The B&B was converted from a very old house and we lived in the "Chart Room" which comes with a pouch, a main bedroom and a seating room with a sofa bed and more books than the B&B's library!

A stroll along Camden's quaint main street.

The second day, we took a cruise out of Camden on a sail boat.

Tasha and a fellow passenger sharing the history of the boat we were on - it started when a family built the boat and wanted to sail around the world with it (along with the 7 year old son), they advertised for crew to join them for a fee and set off. Half way through they ran out of money and had to sell the boat but luckily the new owner allowed them to complete the journey

After the cruise, we had to rush back to the B&B so Geoff can catch the Uruguay vs Netherlands match! Netherlands won and we went out to sample more lobsters. We wanted to sample lobsters either in a shack or a pound, so we drove down to South Thomaston in search of Watermans Beach Lobster - one of the best lobster shack but in the middle of nowhere! With what map we had, we actually found it! It looked like what a shack should be, unfortunately it was closed that day! Arghhhhhh......we were so upset, we forgot to take a photo of it. So, we went to a place called Lobster Pound Restaurant instead. Note the word Restaurant.......the ambiance is just not the same......but Tasha wanted to try lobster and she did and loved it.

After our very unsatisfactory experience at the Lobster Pound Restaurant yesterday, we decided to give it another try. We went to another recommended place called Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier. A bit more commercialised than it used to be but still good.

As always, Drea had her hotdog while we had real food

Once we filled our tummy with lobsters, we drove down south to Amsbury, near Newburyport where Geoff's cousin is based.
